Cumbria & the Lake District

The north west of the UK is home to Cumbria, an area full of interesting towns and attractions. An incredibly beautiful part of the country, it doesn’t matter if you are an adrenaline junkie or you’re looking for a quiet weekend; Cumbria has it all. Home to the Lake District, a trip to Cumbria is anything but dull.

Many famous poets have lived in Cumbria, including William Wordsworth. However, whether you are a literary fan or not, there are endless wonders to cast your eyes over in this area. With so many different lakes to uncover, as well as endless walking trails, there’s no better place to visit in the spring if you’re looking to explore nature.

Stratford-upon-Avon

Shakespeare’s birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon, is a stunning medieval town and is the perfect setting for a short break from your usual routine. Full of hidden gems, Stratford-upon-Avon gives you the chance to indulge in some shopping while wandering amongst historical sites, including Hall’s Croft.

Uncover the old blacksmiths’ yard, or see a play by the Royal Shakespeare Company. There are endless attractions to keep the whole family entertained, and with a number of caravan parks you won’t be short of somewhere to park up!

Cambridge

The spring weather lends itself to a leisurely stroll around a beautiful, historic city and Cambridge offers just that. Home to one of the most prestigious universities in the country, you can take a tour around some of the colleges and discover for yourself what’s so special about it.

Take a trip down the river, explore the open green spaces or visit some of the country’s most beautiful churches and chapels. Cambridge offers you the opportunity to take in some real British culture, while you’re basking in the spring sunshine.

Scotland’s beaches

You may associate beaches with hot European destinations, but the UK is home to some of the most beautiful beaches you’ve ever seen. Scotland in particular is home to numerous beaches that are ready for exploration with the family. The spring weather might just provide enough sunshine for you to enjoy a stroll along these sandy beaches, and if not then you can still enjoy the view!

From Armadale Bay Beach in the very north, to Saltcoats Beach on the west coast, you won’t be short of destinations to explore.
