Destination Checklist for 2017

At the start of every new year, we no doubt have some New Year’s resolutions or at least some goals that we’d love to achieve. For many of us, we aim to try and see more of the world around us; whether that means the places on our own doorstep, or further afield. There’s so much to see and do, especially if you have a motorhome. It’s so easy to travel at your leisure and go wherever takes your fancy! So, here is your destination checklist for 2017.

UK Destinations

No matter where you live in the UK, there is always somewhere beautiful within driving distance. From the north to south, the UK offers some spectacular destinations that are worth travelling to. Whether you’re an avid traveller or simply fancy a break for a few days, these are some of the top places that should be on your list for a getaway.

The Cotswolds stretches over 800 square miles, including 5 counties. Offering so many small villages that are full of historical attractions, your day in the Cotswolds can be as exciting or relaxing as you want. With a real community spirit and so much explore, the Cotswolds offers something unique in every season of the year.

Holidaying in Devon is an experience that everyone should have at some point. Scenic and, quite simply, picturesque Devon is the epitome of the great outdoors. Full of coves, beautiful walks and endless activities for the family, you can spend the day in Devon walking along the beach or hiding away in a cosy pub.

For those wanting explore the hidden corners of the UK, Norfolk is your destination of the year. Probably mostly forgotten about due to its location, Norfolk actually offers some of the best countryside to explore. Its villages are nothing short of incredible, filled with stately homes, medieval churches and fascinating museums.

European Destinations

For those of who you might be looking for somewhere a little more exotic, or if you’ve already explored all the corners of the UK, Europe is a great place to start with your motorhome.

Lake Geneva is possibly one of the most beautiful spots in all of Europe. The surroundings of the lake itself are stunning; shared between France and Switzerland and overlooked by the Alps, it’s one of the best destinations to get the most out of your motorhome.

Nice in France is also a must-see, if you are looking to go abroad for your next adventure. On the French Riviera, you have the opportunity to soak up the sun in Nice or Cannes. Immerse yourself in the culture, or park up your motorhome and head over to Monte Carlo for a great day out.

Another spectacular part of Europe to visit in your motorhome is Tuscany. Arguably the most beautiful, scenic part of Italy, Tuscany is renowned for its rolling hills and miles of greenery. While you might need to do some research first to find the hidden gems of the area, it’s more than worth it when you get there!
